Summer Playground Program
Functions are at Baldwin Pond, Ceppa Field, and Habershon Park.
Children ages 6-12 are invited to experience fun-filled days of
games, activities, crafts, and field trips. The playgrounds are
open Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:00pm. There is no cost except
for field trips. Interested participants can register at the three
sites any time the program is in session. Additional info at

'A Conversation About Elderhostel'
George and Betty Thomson, Elderhostel Ambassadors, are the
guest speakers at the Meriden Public Library at 12noon, today.
Together, the Meriden residents have attended over 60 Elderhostel
programs. Several of their trips have been to Europe, including
five biking tours through Holland, England, the Danube River area,
Denmark and Italy's Po Valley. They recently returned from four
consecutive Elderhostel courses in California. The program is
free and the public is invited to attend - bring a bag lunch.

Summer Fun Runs Program
The free runs get underway at 6:30pm at the Platt High School
track and feature a 3/4 mile race for children and a 5k race
for adults. Refreshments and prizes will be available.

Hubbard Park Entertainment Series
The season kick-off continues at the James J. Barry bandshell
from 7:00 - 8:30pm with the John Oblon Swing Band performing.
The show is free with refreshments available for purchase.

Swim Lessons
Free swim lessons for children ages 4 and older. Registration
will be held at the Hubbard Park pool (10:00am) on Saturday
June 26 (and July 10th for the 7/12-7/23 session). Children need
a 2004 pool pass and bring a bathing suit/towel to register.

Meriden Raiders Registration
The second registration session for the 2004 Meriden
Raiders Junior Football and Cheerleading 2004 season
takes place from 10am-2pm today at Washington Park's
Pete Sini Fieldhouse (rear of park). Final registration
takes place at the same location on July 10th.
