Indoor Swim Program

The Public Swim Program meets at the
Maloney High School pool for your benefit:

Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 6:30 - 7:45pm
Saturdays and Sundays from 12 Noon - 3:45pm


There will be no public swim on school holidays
or snow days, unless otherwise noted.

Daily updates are available on the Parks and Rec

All interested participants must possess a valid tag,
($1 for children 17 and under, and $5 for adults),

Tuesdays, January - April 9, 2002

Co-Ed Adult Volleyball Program

Organized recreational volleyball games for adults
ages 18 and older take place every Tuesday night
at Lincoln Middle School from 6:00-9:00PM.
(Program doesn't run school holidays or snow days)
All paid participants will receive t-shirts.
A one-time $25.00 registration fee can be paid
at the program or at the department office of

CRPA Hotshot Contest

The City of Meriden and the Meriden Boys and Girls Club
invite children ages 9-15 to participate in the local
competition of the statewide challenge at the B+G Club.
Age group and registration/competition start times:
       Age      Registration     Competition
     9-10        3:00PM           3:15PM
     11-12       3:30PM           3:45PM
     13-15       4:15PM           4:30PM
Contestants score points by making baskets from different
spots on the gym floor in a sset amount of time. Winners
will advance to the county championship in Waterbury
and possibly the state championship at CCSU game in
New Britain. For reg/contest info, call 235-8185 or

Bernie Jurale Memorial Tradition Run

The City of Meriden and the Record-Journal will
present this 33rd annual event at Hubbard Park.
Registration begins at 9:30AM in the park
maintenance facility with the run to follow
at 10:30AM. Walkers, joggers and runners
of all ages and abilities are invited to
test their skills against the 3.1-mile
course that begins in the park and climbs
an elevation of over 700 feet to its finish
at Castle Craig. The first 150 participants
receive certificates and other gifts.

The 15th Annual 'Daffodils on Parade' takes place
on Saturday, April 27th and the 2002 Meriden
Memorial Day Parade takes place Saturday, May 25th.
School, community and business groups are all
invited and encouraged to participate in these
