Indoor Swim Program

The Public Swim Program meets at the
Maloney High School pool for your benefit:

Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 6:30 - 7:45pm
Saturdays and Sundays from 12 Noon - 3:45pm

There will be no public swim on school holidays
or snow days, unless otherwise noted.

special hours winter vacation week:

the MHS pool is open 12noon - 3:45pm 2/18-22
normal public swim schedule applies on weekends

($1 for children 17 and under, and $5 for adults),

Co-Ed Adult Volleyball Program

Organized recreational volleyball games for adults
ages 18 and older take place every Tuesday night
at Lincoln Middle School from 6:00-9:00PM.
(Program doesn't run school holidays or snow days)
All paid participants will receive t-shirts.
A one-time $25.00 registration fee can be paid
at the program or at the department office of

Valentine's Day Card Contest

Students in grades K-5 are invited to enter.
Original, hand-produced cards can be brought
or mailed to the Parks and Recreation Dept.
Winners will be chosen in two categories:
K-2 and 3-5
All winners receive a special prize package.
Entries must include the child's full name,
addrss, phone number, school and grade level.

winter vacation, February 18-22, 2002

A Week with Activities

Winter Hike: at Giuffrida Park Wednesday 2/20.
Initerested participants are asked to meet in the parking
lot at 10:00AM. The hike will last approximately 2 hours.
Boots and warm clothing are suggested.
Ice Skating Trip: to the Champions Skating Center
in Cromwell on Thursday, 2/21. The Meriden Parks and
Recreation Dept sponsors this trip and will have a bus
leave the Maloney High School parking lot at 11:30AM
and will return at approximately 1:30PM. Interested
participants must register at the Parks and Rec office
between February 4th - 19th. The cost is $5.00 per person
and children under the age of 12 must be accompanied
by an adult. Space is limited so please register early.

The 15th Annual 'Daffodils on Parade' takes place
on Saturday, April 27th and the 2002 Meriden
Memorial Day Parade takes place Saturday, May 25th.
School, community and business groups are all
invited and encouraged to participate in these
