The City of Meriden offers skating at Mirror Lake in Hubbard Park
and sledding plus cross-country skiing at Hunter Memorial Golf Course.
Interested participants are asked to call our activity line for
daily updates on the conditions at the above locations.

Public Swim at Maloney High School

Participants wearing a valid 1999 swim tag may use the pool on:
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30 - 7:45pm
plus Saturdays and Sundays 12:00 - 3:45pm thru June 13, 1999.
Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

March 2, 1999

Leprechaun Hunt

Children ages 4-15 are invited to find the location of
Patsy the Paper Leprechaun. Clues are given via the
Parks and Recreation Department Activity Line (630-4259)
on March 2nd, 4th, 9th, 11th and 16th.
The first child to locate Patsy and bring him to the
Parks and Recreation Department office will receive a
special St. Patrick's Day prize package.

M.A.S.A. Sign-ups

Team registrations for the Meriden Amateur Softball Association will take
place Monday the 8th at 6:30pm in the Washington Middle School cafeteria.
This is the only opportunity teams will have to register for the 1999
MASA season. Call MASA hotline at 634-1954 for further info, or write the

St. Patrick's Day Parade

The Meriden A.O.H. will present the 1999 St. Patrick's Day Parade
at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday the 13th. The parade begins at the intersection
of Parker Avenue and East Main Street, proceeds on East Main Street through
the downtown area to West Main Street and finishes at the intersection of
Bradley Avenue and West Main Street.

Meriden Land Trust

An all-volunteer group consisting of
conservationists, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts
invite you to join them at the City Engineer's office
in city hall as they meet every third Wednesday at 7p.m.

Focusing on protecting the natural habitat of Meriden
including its wetlands, wildlife habitat, trap-rock ridges
trails, farmland, historic, scenic and recreational areas;
collectively, we can all help maintain Meriden's balance
between the rural and urban aspects of the community.

1999 Easter Egg Hunt

Ready, set, go ... to the James J. Barry Bandshell at Hubbard Park;
and if you're a child aged 3-10, you may discover what early surprises
the Easter Bunny has for you! Children are also asked to bring a basket
or bag for collecting their hidden treats. In case of inclement weather,
this event will be held on April 3rd at the same time and place. Good Luck :)
