Indoor Swim Program

You're welcome to maintain your swimming exercise at
the Maloney High School indoor pool on Gravel Street.
Interested participants must possess a valid 2001 pool tag,
which can be obtained at the Parks and Recreation office.
(Cost $5.00 for adults, children 17 and under $1.00
Proof of Meriden residency required for purchase.)

The pool's weekly schedule will be as follows:
Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays ... 6:30 - 7:45pm
Saturdays and Sundays ... 12:00n - 3:45pm


** Special Hours April 16-20, 2001 Vacation Week **

Pool opens M-F 1:00-3:45pm (normal schedule on weekend)

There is no public swim on school holidays or snow days,
unless otherwise noted. Daily updates can be found on the

Tuesdays, April 3rd and 10th, 2001

Co-Ed Adult Volleyball Program

Organized recreational volleyball games for adults
ages 18 and older takes place every Tuesday night
at Lincoln Middle School from 6:00 - 9:00pm!
(Program will not run school holidays or snow days)
One-time $20.00 registration fee payable at game or

2001 World Tai Chi Day

The public is invited to visit Hubbard Park at 10:00am
to participate in a worldwide celebration of Tai Chi.
Group demonstrations and individual instructions will be
provided by Central CT Tai Chi Ch'uan. This free event
will take place in the parking lot across from the pool.

2001 Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Bunny will be at the Hubbard Park bandshell
to give children an early start to their Easter egg
collecting this year. Age / Time group applies:
          1-3       10:00am
          4-5       10:20am
          6-7       10:40am
          8-10      11:00am
Charlie Chuckles the Clown willl be around to entertain
and provide balloon animals. Children are asked to please
bring a bag or basket for egg collecting (rain or shine).

Rock Cats Trip

The Meriden Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring
a trip to New Britain Stadium to see the Rock Cats play a
12 Noon game against the Norwich Navigators. The bus leaves
the Maloney High School parking lot at 11:00am and returns
immediately following the conclusion of the game. Interested
participants must register at the Parks and Rec Dept. office by
April 17th. The cost is $5.00 per person. Space is extremely
limited, so sign-up today to see future major-league stars!

23rd Annual Meriden Daffodil Festival

From 10:00am-9:00pm Saturday AND 10:00am-5:00pm Sunday,
you'll be able to enjoy amusement rides, continuous
musical entertainment, a parade, a craft fair,
fireworks, a road race, special events,
demonstrations, over 40 different
food vendors and over 600,000
daffodils in bloom!
