Indoor Swim Program
The Public Swim Program meets at the
Maloney High School pool for your benefit:
Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 6:30 - 7:45pm
Saturdays and Sundays from 12 Noon - 3:45pm
- special school vacation week hours -
April 15, 17 and 19 ... 12:00 - 3:45pm
There will be no public swim on school holidays
or snow days, unless otherwise noted.

All interested participants must possess a valid tag,
($1 for children 17 and under, and $5 for adults),

Tuesdays, April 2nd and 9th, 2002
Co-Ed Adult Volleyball Program
Organized recreational volleyball games for adults
ages 18 and older take place every Tuesday night
at Lincoln Middle School from 6:00-9:00PM.
(Program doesn't run school holidays or snow days)
All paid participants will receive t-shirts.
A one-time $25.00 registration fee can be paid
at the program or at the department office of

Lifeguard Training
The Parks and Recreation Department will be
offering an American Red Cross Lifeguard
Training Class during the month of May,
taking place 6-10pm on Monday and Thursday
nights. The cost is $180.00 per student.
Interested participants must be 15 years of
age by May 30th and register by April 15 at:

Spring Vacation Week Activities
Enjoy your vacation with these exciting activities:
Dance Lessons -Explore the world of dance!
Lessons take place at Miss Laura's School of Dance,
626 East Main Street. Children ages 6 and older
are invited to learn ballet, jazz, hip-hop and other
dance steps. Lessons run daily from 10:00-11:00AM.
Interested participants must register at the Parks
and Recreation office between April 1st - 12th.
The cost is $5.00 - limited openings - register now!
Baseball Clinic -Improve your baseball skills!
Whether you play in Little League or in the backyard,
this is just the thing for you. Boys ages 8-12 are
taught such fundamentals as hitting, pitching and
fielding. Additionally, select game situation
strategy will be covered. The clinic takes place daily
at Washington Park from 1:00-4:00PM. You must register
at the Parks and Recreation office by April 12th.
The cost is $10.00, which includes transportation and
admission to the New Britain Rock Cats/Norwich Navigators
game on Thursday, April 18th in New Britain. Space limited!
Rock Cats Trip -The Parks and Recreation Department
is sponsoring a trip to New Britain Stadium on Thursday, 4/18
to see the Rock Cats play a 6:35PM game against the
Binghamton Mets. The bus leaves the Maloney High School
parking lot at 5:45PM and returns immediately following
the conclusion of the game. The cost is $5.00 per person.
Interested participants must register by April 17th at the
Meriden Parks and Recreation, 460 Liberty St, 630-4259
Saturday and Sunday, April 27th and 28th, 2002
24th Annual Meriden Daffodil Festival
Hubbard Park is the place to be from 10:00AM - 9:00PM Saturday,
and again (why not?) the following day from 10:00AM - 5:00PM!
Features include: amusement rides, continuous musical
entertainment, a parade, a craft fair, fireworks, a road race,
special events, demonstrations, over 40 differenct food vendors,
and over 600,000 daffodils in bloom. Here's just a sampling
of some of the prominent pre-festival and festival events:
