Indoor Swim Program

You're welcome to maintain your swimming exercise at
the Maloney High School indoor pool on Gravel Street.
Interested participants must possess a valid 2001 pool tag,
which can be obtained at the Parks and Recreation office.
(Cost $5.00 for adults, children 17 and under $1.00
Proof of Meriden residency required for purchase.)

The pool's weekly schedule will be as follows:
Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays ... 6:30 - 7:45pm
Saturdays and Sundays ... 12:00n - 3:45pm

There is no public swim on school holidays or snow days,
unless otherwise noted. Daily updates can be found on the
Parks and Recreation Department Activity Line (203) 630-4279.

2001 Hershey Track and Field Competition

The City of Meriden and the Meriden Boys and Girls Club
invite youths ages 9-14 to participate in the local
Hershey Track and Field Youth Program.
This event will be held at the Platt High School
track with registration from 9:45-10:15AM,
and the challenges beginning at 10:30AM.
Participants receive prizes/refreshments.
Winners may qualify for state championship!

Meriden Raiders Jr. Football/Cheerleading Sign-Ups

The 2001 season is just around the corner ... you may
sign-up today from 10:00am-1:00pm at a cost of $75.00
which includes the year end banquet / no fund raiser.
You must be 7 years old on or before August 1, 2001
and weigh at least 45lbs. You may not be older than
15 years of age August 1, 2001 and weigh no more
than 125lbs. Please bring your 2000-2001 original
report cards, an original medical consent dated
after January 1, 2001 and signed by the doctor.
Parent or legal guardian consent is also required.
There are 5 age/weight divisions (Mighty Mites,
Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee, Jr. Midgets and Midget).
Cheerleaders ages 8-15 are welcome to join!

2001 Meriden Memorial Day Parade

The City of Meriden and the Meriden United Veterans Council
are presenting this parade which begins at 10:00AM at the
Washington Park and will proceed to City Hall
via Liberty, Cottage and East Main Streets.
A brief ceremony at City Hall follows the parade.
Individuals or groups wishing to march should call
