2001 Outdoor Public Swim Program
Time to hit the waters at the Hubbard Park Pool:
daily schedule
12:00-6:30pm ... Open Swim
6:45-7:45pm ... Adult Swim
Participants must possess valid 2001 tags from

2001 Summer Playground Program
Children ages 6-14 are invited to experience fun-filled days of
games, activities, arts and crafts, and even field trips.
Playgrounds at Washington Park, Ceppa Field and Habershon Park
will be open weekdays from 8:30am-3:00pm. There is no cost
(except for field trips) - registration only at playground sites.

2001 Summer Fun Runs
The free runs get underway starting 6:30pm at the Platt High School track
and feature a 3/4 mile race for children and a 5k race for adults.
Refreshments and prizes will be available - on your mark, get ready!

Swim Lessons
Pre-registered children ages 4 and older may continue to take
advantage of this free service which is conducted at Hubbard Park.
Don't forget your valid 2001 pool tag and, of course, bathing suit.

Independence Day Fireworks Display
The City of Meriden's 2001 spectacular takes place at
Hubbard Park in conjunction with the Summer Sounds 2001
Concert Series. The festivities get underway starting at
5:30pm with a performance by Sean, Kelley and Wayne; then
the Meriden Symphany Orchestra takes the bandshell stage at
7:30pm to be immediately followed by fireworks around 9:15pm.
The rain date for this event is Wednesday, July 4th!

Puerto Rican Cultural Festival
**POSTPONED: due to poor weather conditions,
this event is rescheduled to July 15, 2001.

free service which is conducted Monday thru Fridays at Hubbard Park.
Registration will be held at the pool 10:00am Saturday, July 7th!

Summer Sounds 2001 Concert Series
Music continues to flow from the
Hubbard Park James J. Barry bandshell:
Tonight, Party Line shall entertain you.
Other July concerts feature ...
Baltic Avenue on the 19th,
Cheryl Cormier on the 25th and
Walt Solek Polka Band on the 31st.
These free shows are from 7-8:30pm;
refreshments available for purchase!

Meriden Raiders Registration
Registration for the upcoming 2001 Meriden Junior Football League
will continue this weekend for football players and cheerleaders.
Come to the Washington Park in the Pete Sini Field House 10am-1pm.
This is the final registration before practice begins in August.

Meriden's 34th annual celebration features
food, fun and music and takes place at the
Hubbard Park Band Shell from 1:00 - 8:00pm!

4th Annual Hubbard Park Cruise Night
Attention, car enthusiasts! Hubbard Park will once
again be filled with classic automobiles from 5:00-8:30pm.
Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 200 classic cars,
and the night will also feature a DJ, prizes, raffle + food.
Come and see what 'life in the fast lane' is all about.
