2002 Outdoor Public Swim Program

The pool's daily schedule is as follows:

       12:00 - 6:30pm    Open Swim
         6:45 - 7:45pm    Adult Swim

Weekdays, July - August 9, 2002

2002 Summer Playground Program

Operating at Washington Park, Ceppa Field and Haberson Park,
children ages 6-13 are invited to experience fun-filled
days of games, activities, crafts, and field trips.
The playgrounds are open Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:00pm.
There is no cost except for the field trips.
Interested paarticipants must follow a new process
for registration. A $1.00 photo ID card must be
purchased at the Parks and Recreation office, and
an information form must be completed by a
parent/guardian at the playground site.

Independence Day Fireworks Display

The City of Meriden's 2002 spectacular takes place at
Hubbard Park in conjunction with the Summer Sounds 2002
Concert Series. The festivities get underway starting at
6:00pm with the eigth annual 'Tchicken and Tchailkovsky'
picnic; then the Meriden Symphany Orchestra takes the
bandshell stage to be followed by 9:00pm fireworks.
The rain date for this event is Thursday, July 4th!

Wednesdays, July - August 7, 2002

2002 Summer Fun Runs

The free runs get underway at the Platt High School
track weekly at 6:30pm and feature a 3/4 mile race
for children and a 5K race for adults.
Refreshments and prizes will be available.

Swim Lessons

Registration for children age 4 and older
will be held at Hubbard Park pool at 10:00am
on Saturday July 6. Children must have a
valid 2002 pool pass and bring a
bathing suit and towel to register.

Hubbard Park Cruise Night

Come one, come all - dash plaques to the first 200 entrants.
Yup, you may witness just who receives the 'Best of Show' Award.
This 5th annual event takes place from 5:00 - 8:30PM.
(Raindate - Thursday, July 18th)
Cars must be at least 25 years old.
There'll be food, a DJ and a raffle.
Sorry ... no bikes, booze or burnouts.
