2000 Outdoor Public Swim Program

It's that time of year again!!!
You must have a valid 2000 swim tag
available at the Parks and Rec office.
Pool's daily schedule is as follows:
12:00-6:30pm ..... Open Swim
6:45-7:45pm ..... Adult Swim

2000 Summer Playground Program

Operating at Washington Park, Ceppa Field and Habershon Park,
children ages 6-14 are invited to experience fun-filled days
of games, activities, crafts, and yes, even field trips!
The playgrounds are open 8:30am - 3:00pm. There's no cost
(except for field trips). Register only at playground sites.

2000 Summer Fun Runs

These free runs at the Platt High School track get underway
at 6:30pm and feature a 3/4 mile race for children and a
5k race for adults. Refreshments and prizes are available.

Summer Sounds 2000 Concert Series

The music continues with a performance by:
Shakedown from 6:30-8:30pm
... but that's not all for this month ...
Whiskey River Band the 8th from 7-8:30pm;
for the 10th, there are two special groups:
Open Wide starts off from 6-7pm followed by
4Jonny from 7:00-8:30pm; and there's lots more ...
Eight to the Bar on the 16th from 7-8:30pm
Gonkus Brothers and County Line Band the 17th 7-8:30pm
Chico and Friends 7-8:30pm on the 22nd (originally Aug 1)
and finally Riders on the Storm from 7-8:30pm on the 24th!
Shows take place in the James J. Barry Bandshell, Hubbard Park.
Bring your chairs/blankets and come enjoy an entertaining night.
Concerts are free - refreshments will be available for purchase.

Meriden YMCA Car Cruise

You're invited to preview cars pre-dating 1976
displayed at the downtown Municipal Parking Lot!
There'll even be fun things to do for kids and families:
50's, 60's, 70's music with a DJ, dancing, hula hoops,
hacky sacks, food / refreshments, and even raffle prizes.
! (Activities take place in the Y parking lot and facility)
Hope to see ya there 5-9pm; rain date is the 6th 1-5pm.

Puerto Rican food, music and other cultural aspects
