Daughters of Liberty Day

The 1711 Solomon Goffe House, A Living History Museum,
celebrates 'Daughters of Liberty Day' Sunday from 1:30-4:30pm!
Special guest this month is well-known quilter Susan Varanka;
she will have 50 of her queen to miniature sized quilts on display.
Tin Peddler John Santo shall also stop by with his tin items.
You can even see The Daughters of Liberty spin, knit, tat plus
do embroidery and sewing at 677 North Colony Street, Meriden.

NFL Gatorade Punt, Pass and Kick Competition

The Meriden YMCA and the City of Meriden invite
boys and girls ages 8-15 to test their football skills
at the local competition of the NFL Gatorade program!
This free event takes place at Ceppa Field on Saturday at 10AM.
Participants must bring their birth certificates and sneakers.
Local winners will advance to state championships in October.

Indoor Public Swim

The 1999-2000 Indoor Public Swim Program begins
Monday, September 20th at the Maloney High School pool.
Interested participants must possess a valid 1999 pool tag.
Tags are available at the Parks and Recreation Department office.
The pool's weekly schedule will be as follows:

Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays ... 6:30-7:45pm
Saturdays and Sundays ... 12:00-3:45pm
(Pool is unavailable Tuesdays and Fridays)

There will be no public swim on school holidays nor snow days,
unless otherwise noted. Daily updates can be found on the
Parks and Recreation Department Activity Line (203) 630-4279.

3rd Annual Hoopin' Downtown Basketball Festival

Basketball players of all ages and abilities are invited to participate
in this all-day, 3-on-3 basketball tournament at the police/court complex.
Teams must have at least 3 members and can have as many as 5 members.
Participants receive T-shirts and winners will receive trophies!
Everyone, including spectators, can also enjoy a slam dunk contest,
a 3-point shooting contest, a soccer clinic conducted by the CT Wolves,
