Participants wearing a valid 1999 swim tag may use the pool on:
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30 - 7:45pm
plus Saturdays and Sundays 12:00 - 3:45pm thru June 13, 1999.
Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Tuesday Trailblazers

Explore Meriden's most beautiful wooded areas!
The Trailblazer hiking program moves to Tuesdays
for the month of May starting the 11th, 18th and 25th;
they begin at 4pm and last approximately two hours.
Info on hike locations are available one week prior to
the day of the hike by calling the activity line 630-4279.

May 15, 1999

Hershey Track and Field Competition

The City of Meriden and the Meriden Boys Club
invite youths ages 9-14 to participate in the local
competition of the Hershey Track and Field Youth Program.
The event will be held at the Maloney H.S. track.
Registration gets underway at 11a.m., with the competition
beginning shortly thereafter. Participants receive prizes/refreshments.
Event winners may qualify for the state championship to be held in July.

Meriden Land Trust

An all-volunteer group consisting of
conservationists, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts
invite you to join them at the City Engineer's office
in city hall as they meet every third Wednesday at 7p.m.

Focusing on protecting the natural habitat of Meriden
including its wetlands, wildlife habitat, trap-rock ridges
trails, farmland, historic, scenic and recreational areas;
collectively, we can all help maintain Meriden's balance
between the rural and urban aspects of the community.

1999 Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society will present the
1999 Relay for Life at the Platt H.S. track
from 3pm on Friday the 21st thru 3pm Saturday 5/22.
Help honor cancer victims / celebrate cancer survivors!
Proceeds from this event will benefit cancer research.

1999 Memorial Day Parade

The Meriden United Veteran's Council presents the
1999 Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 31st at 10:00AM.
It all begins at the intersection of Broad and Curtis Streets,
proceeding up Broad to East Main Street, then turning left onto
East Main Street and finishing at the City Hall where there
will be a short ceremony immediately following the parade.
Individuals or groups wishing to march should call 635-3934.
