Castle Craig
Everyone is welcome to experience some great views
from atop East Peak. The road from Hubbard Park
leading to the infamous castle / local landmark
is accessible between the hours of 10am - 4:45pm.
However, it will be closed on inclement weather days.

Located at the corner of Coe Avenue and Hamilton Street.
The facility's hours of operation are as follows:
School Days ... 2:00pm - Dusk
Non-School Days ... 10:00am - Dusk
(closed for the holiday 8/31 and 9/1)

Outdoor Public Swim Program
The Hubbard Park pool's daily schedule is as follows:
12:00 - 6:30PM === Open Swim
6:45 - 7:45PM === Adult Swim
All interested participants must possess a valid 2003 pool pass.
Passess cost $5.00 for adults and $1.00 for children 17 and under.
To receive a pass, you must arrive in-person and bring proof of
Meriden residency, along with appropriate payment(s) to our office:

'Treasure In Our Backyard' Exhibit
Photographs by Meriden artist Lynn Fisher are the subject of this
special display at the Meriden Public Library. All of the pictures
in the show were taken right here in the Silver City and show the
artist’s interest in the beauty of nature that surrounds us everyday.
The exhibit may be viewed during the library’s regular hours:
Monday through Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Thursday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
... all part of the library's year-long centennial celebration!

Summer Playground Program
Locations: Ceppa Field, Habershon Park AND Baldwin Pond.
Children ages 6-13 are invited to experience fun-filled
days of games, activities, crafts, and field trips.
The playgrounds are open from 8:30AM - 3:00PM.
There is no cost except for field trips. Interested
participants can register at the 3 sites when in session.

Summer Sounds 2003
Be entertained at Hubbard Park's James J. Barry bandshell:
Eight to the Bar (Swing) (7:00-8:30PM)
The series finale featuring the big band classics
of the John Oblon Swing Band takes place
on a date to be determined in September.
Refreshments will be available at the shows.
Please bring lawn chairs and/or blankets.

2003 Summer Fun Runs
The free runs get underway starting 6:30pm at the Platt High School track
and feature a 3/4 mile race for children and a 5k race for adults.
Refreshments and prizes will be available - on your mark, get ready!

The library will be closed for the Labor Day holiday period
from Saturday, August 30th through Monday, September 1st.
The library will reopen for business on Tuesday, September 2.
Normally, the public is welcome to visit / use the library:
